If you're hungry to engineer something that matters, Scout Motors is where that ambition finds its highest gear.  We are seeking a Senior Automotive Network Integration Engineer to lead the design, architecture, and validation of in-vehicle communication networks across complex, software-defined vehicle platforms. You will own end-to-end network integration across ECUs, ensuring deterministic, secure, and scalable communication across all vehicle domains. This role is highly cross-functional, bridging EE architecture, embedded software, diagnostics, and vehicle systems engineering, with significant influence on platform-level design decisions. This person will define how all vehicle systems communicate robustly on the platform —directly shaping the reliability, scalability, and performance of the entire vehicle platform. Your decisions influence architecture direction across current and next-generation EV systems.  Become part of an iconic brand that is set to revolutionize the electric pick-up truck & rugged SUV marketplace by achieving the following: <ul> <li>Define and lead validation strategy for vehicle communication networks: CAN / CAN FD, LIN, Automotive Ethernet (DoIP, SOME/IP)  </li> <li>Establish test coverage models for signal integrity, timing determinism, fault tolerance and degradation behavior to ensure traceability from requirements → signals → test cases → results </li> <li>Own validation execution across multiple environments SIL, HIL (hardware-in-the-loop benches) and vehicle integration testing  </li> <li>Design scalable regression test suites for ECU communication systems  </li> <li>Ensure consistent behavior across simulated and real-world environments </li> <li>Validate multi-ECU communication across distributed vehicle systems across powertrain, BMS, ADAS, chassis, body systems  </li> <li>Perform deep debugging of network issues such as CAN bus load saturation, message timing drift, signal corruption or loss, gateway routing failures etc. </li> <li>Analyze ECU interactions under stress, fault injection, and edge conditions </li> <li>Use diagnostic protocols (UDS – ISO 14229) to validate ECU behavior  </li> <li>Analyze large-scale CAN/Ethernet logs for intermittent failures, cross-ECU timing mismatches, system-level integration issues  </li> <li>Coordinate integration across Powertrain / Electrification (BMS, inverter, charging), Body & Comfort, ADAS / AD compute platforms, Infotainment & Connectivity, Central Compute / Zonal Controllers </li> <li>Validate that system behavior meets system requirement specifications (SRS) under nominal conditions, boundary conditions, fault injection scenarios, high bus load scenarios, low voltage and cold crank conditions </li> <li>Ensure feature-level integration synchronization, power mode management, Wake-up/sleep strategy robustness. </li> <li>Own vehicle-level regression test planning, drive root cause analysis of cross-domain issues and help support integration war-room activities during DV/PV builds. </li> </ul> Location & Travel Expectations: <ul> <li>This role may be based out of the Scout Motors corporate headquarters in Charlotte, NC. </li> <li>This role requires 4-5 days per week in the office, with regular in-person meetings and events. </li> <li>Applicants should expect that the role will require the ability to convene with Scout colleagues in person and travel to participate in events on behalf of the company from time to time.</li> </ul> <h4>What you’ll bring </h4> We expect all Scout employees to have integrity, curiosity, resourcefulness, and strive to exhibit a positive attitude, as well as a growth mindset. Here's what else you'll bring:  <ul> <li>Master’s degree in electrical engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field with 10+ yrs. of experience </li> <li>Strong understanding of vehicle E/E architecture and ECU-level software stacks, automotive communication protocols (CAN, LIN, FlexRay, Ethernet), UDS diagnostics (ISO 14229) and diagnostic communication tools </li> <li>Expert knowledge of Jira, GitHub/GitLab, Jenkins, and Artifactory. ALM/PLM proficiency in Siemens Polarion, IBM DOORS Next Gen, or PTC Windchill. </li> <li>Strong understanding, development and verification of plant and control models in MATLAB/Simulink for execution in hardware in the loop test environment, dSpace control desk and automation desk   </li> <li>Strong understanding of 1st principles in Engineering, result/solution oriented.  </li> <li>Familiarity with SW for embedded systems, EE systems and architecture  </li> <li>Familiarity with A2B, CAN, Automotive Ethernet, LIN, LVDS communication protocols and Vehicle Network tools, such as CANalyzer, CANoe, etc.‚ </li> <li>Expertise with complex problem solving, data analysis, access/interpret/drive results with extended teams.  </li> <li>Knowledge of Automotive design and development process, system requirements, and general engineering best practices  </li> </ul> <h4>What you'll gain</h4> The benefits of joining Scout include the chance to build products and a company from the ground up.  This is a chance to create something new and lasting – with an iconic brand at its foundation.  In addition, Scout provides competitive compensation and benefits to support your physical, mental, and financial wellbeing.
