Senior Specialist, People Operations

<p><strong>Description</strong></p> <p>Castlery is looking for a Senior Specialist, People Operations to join our team in Malaysia!</p> <p>Our People Operations specialists are a vital part of the employee experience at Castlery. Part of the People Operations function within the People team, they focus on ensuring the smooth and error-free execution of our day-to-day people operations.</p> <p>This role will have a direct impact on the experience of our Castlery crew based in Malaysia and will be a great fit for someone that is constantly looking for better, more efficient ways to ensure frictionless people operations. This role will be actively involved as we grow and scale the company, learning about different markets and regulatory frameworks, as well as new processes to ensure efficiency and scalability.&nbsp;</p> <p>If you’re keen on creating a space for people to thrive both personally and professionally and excel when working with high levels of autonomy and psychological safety, reach out!</p> <p><strong>What you’ll be doing</strong></p> <ul> <li>Work with our existing People Operations specialists to execute people policy, such as payroll, leave administration,work visa applications and other people-processes</li> <li>Work closely with finance to ensure the error-free reconciliation of payroll and claims on a monthly basis</li> <li>Review our existing People processes to identify opportunities for improvement, whether through process iteration, systems acquisition, or policy change</li> <li>Champion the voice of the employee</li> <li>Support other functions within the People team on performance and engagement initiatives</li> <li>Conduct research into new markets/regulatory districts/countries whenever we require</li> </ul> <p><strong>What you’ll need</strong></p> <ul> <li>At least 5 years’ experience in a people operations function</li> <li>Preferably, this will include experience in a growth-stage start-up, and prior experience in a HR generalist or non-HR function</li> <li>Excellent understanding of Malaysian labour law and Employment Act</li> <li>Knowledge of the employment law in Singapore and/or Australia will be highly advantageous</li> <li>A strong attention to detail paired with a commitment to operational excellence</li> <li>Excellent written and spoken English communication skills</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Built for Real Life, Designed for What's Next</strong></p> <p>At Castlery, we've spent over a decade building a brand people love by designing furniture for real life - durable, beautiful, and made to keep up with change.</p> <p>Now, we're focused on what's next: scaling with care, crafting better experiences, and growing a team that's as intentional as our design philosophy.</p> <p>If you believe that good homes create good lives, come build with us.</p>
