BASIC FUNCTION OF POSITION:

As a key member of our Student Services Center (SSC) professional team and under the direct supervision of the
Student Services Coordinator, the SSC Enrollment Specialist performs clerical duties necessary to the enrollment
and placement of students, handle heavy telephones/emails/text messages, and providessupport to the SSC as
needed; has a good understanding of policies and proceduresrelated to keeping student (or similar confidential)
records; works cooperatively with staff to service students, parents and teachers.


REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES:

• Collect and archive required documentsfor student enrollment
• Provide supportto families throughout the Enrollment Process by phone, email, text message, and in-person at
Resource Centers
• Troubleshoot Online Registration with families
• Maintain accurate records and files within the student information system
• Utilize additional databases in order to gather required student information
• Place new students on teacher rostersfor enrollment
• Reception Desk & Main Phone line coverage for all schools
• Perform regular and relief duties atoffice locations or functions
• Operate standard office machines and equipment
• Perform other duties as assigned or changed with or without notice.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
• Any combination of training, experience, and/or education equivalent to one year of recent, full-time
equivalent paid office-clerical experience.
• Ability to maintain reliable on-site attendance and punctuality in accordance with assigned work schedule.
• Possession of a valid California driver's license and reliable transportation
• TB Clearance
• Obtain Criminal Justice Fingerprint/Background Clearance through the DOJ and FBI

• Proficient operation of a computer, assigned software and standard business machines
• Record-keeping and filing techniques
• Correct English usage and grammar, strong oral and written communication skills
• Telephone techniques and etiquette
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills using tact, patience, and courtesy
• Perform technical clerical work independently
• Determine appropriate action with clearly defined guidelines
• Understand, carry-out and give oral and written instructions
• Work cooperatively and respectfully with team members, staff, students, and parents
• Be flexible and readily adapt to new policies and procedures
• Respect confidential information
• Complete work with many interruptions
• Handle multiple phone lines


WORKING CONDITIONS:
ENVIRONMENT: Indoor, office setting; exposure to computer screens.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Hearing and speaking to exchange information with students, staff, parents, and external persons; seeing to read, proofread, perform clerical tasks and periodic work on a computer screen; intermittent sitting, standing, and walking throughout the workday; dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard and other office equipment; kneeling, bending at the waist, and reaching overhead, above the shoulders and horizontally, to retrieve and store files and supplies; lifting light objects; occasional attendance at meetings or events at resource centers or external locations, with reliable transportation.


WORK LOCATION AND OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: This position is primarily performed in an in-person educational environment to support the operational, instructional, compliance, and student service needs of Altus Schools. The employee will be required to work onsite up to five (5) days per week to support school operations, instructional continuity, student services, compliance functions, staff support, meetings, training, and other operational requirements necessary for the effective functioning of the schools. The ability to report onsite as assigned is considered an essential function of this position and is necessary to support collaboration, responsiveness, operational efficiency, supervision, and continuity of educational services.


LOCATION:

12-Month Workday Contract – 100% onsite (Monday-Friday)

SELECTION PROCESS: 

Qualified applicants will first complete a brief work styles/behavioral survey. Candidates who successfully complete this initial phase will be invited to a panel interview with School Administrators. Candidates recommended from the first interview will advance to a final interview with the Deputy Superintendent School Services and Founding Director, and the Superintendent School Services and Founder.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

Employees are eligible for coverage beginning the first day of the month following sixty (60) days of employment.
