As a Lead Oncology Statistician, you will be responsible for guiding statistical strategy, supporting regulatory submissions, and partnering closely with cross‑functional teams throughout the study lifecycle.&nbsp;You may also take on a supervisory role, such as line management and/or project leadership, depending on experience and interest.&nbsp;This position is well suited to statisticians with strong experience in clinical studies and regulatory submissions, who are comfortable working independently and acting as the primary statistical point of contact on their studies.</p> <h3>Key Responsibilities</h3> <ul> <li>Acting as Lead Statistician on oncology clinical studies</li> <li>Providing study‑level and project‑level statistical leadership</li> <li>Leading statistical input into protocols, SAPs, clinical study reports, and regulatory submissions</li> <li>Review and oversight of statistical deliverables produced by internal teams or external partners</li> <li>Study design activities, including sample size calculations, ad‑hoc and exploratory analyses</li> <li>Effective collaboration with clinicians and other disciplines</li> <li>Supporting mentoring, peer review, and broader statistical excellence initiatives</li> </ul> <h3>Experience &amp; Skills</h3> <p><strong>Essential:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Senior to Principal level experience as a statistician within clinical development</li> <li>Strong experience with clinical trials and regulatory submissions</li> <li>Ability to work independently, managing workload across multiple studies</li> <li>Excellent communication skills, including the ability to explain statistical concepts to non‑statisticians</li> <li>Curious, proactive mindset with a strong sense of ownership</li> </ul> <p><strong>Desirable / Developmental:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Oncology experience</li> <li>Basic understanding or willingness to learn Bayesian methods and causal inference modelling</li> <li>Comfortable coding in R or other non‑SAS languages, or open to learning beyond SAS</li> </ul> <h3>Opportunities</h3> <ul> <li>Providing leadership on high‑profile oncology studies</li> <li>Influencing study design and innovative statistical methodologies</li> <li>Line management and peer mentoring opportunities</li> <li>Contributing to process improvement, internal training, and best‑practice development</li> </ul> <h3>What to Expect</h3> <ul> <li>A supportive, collaborative environment where expertise is valued</li> <li>Exposure to complex and impactful oncology studies&nbsp;</li> <li>The opportunity to truly own your role and influence study strategy</li> <li>Clear scope for career development at Senior or Principal level</li> </ul> <p>If you are an independent, inquisitive statistician who enjoys leading studies and working at the forefront of oncology development, we’d love to hear from you.</p> </div><div class="content-conclusion"><p class="p1"><strong><em>Veramed is a B Corp</em></strong><em> accredited company which means that we use the power of business to build a more inclusive and sustainable economy meeting the highest verified standards of social and environmental performance, transparency, and accountability.</em></p> <p class="p1"><em>As an organisation that has people at the heart of it, Veramed is committed to creating a diverse environment and is proud to be an equal opportunities employer.
