Store Lead

Ready to lead a fast-paced rental and retail store in one of Japan’s busiest snow destinations? Join Central Snowsports as a Store Lead and take ownership of daily store operations, team performance, and guest experience in Hakuba.

As a Store Lead, you’ll act as the maître d' of the store; coordinating staff, managing flow, and ensuring every guest receives exceptional service from the moment they walk in to the moment they leave.

Location: Hakuba, Japan
Contract Term: mid November 2026 - late March/early April 2027. Dates TBC.
Remuneration: ¥2200 per hour.
Role type: casual, up to 36 hours per week in peak season.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Overseeing daily rental and retail store operations.
• Allocating staff roles and managing in-store flow and guest experience.
• Monitoring stock levels and supporting rental and retail inventory control.
• Ensuring smooth, safe, and efficient store operations at all times.
• Handling customer queries, feedback, and escalations.
• Training, mentoring, and upskilling team members.
• Supporting sales, rentals, and in-store performance goals.
• Maintaining high standards of store presentation and merchandising.
• Coordinating with Guest Services and Store Leads across all 3 stores.
• Completing store administration and ensuring policy compliance.

Who We're Looking For:

• Ski and/or snowboard technician experience is .
• Confident leader with excellent communication and people skills.
• Highly organised with strong problem-solving ability.
• Able to stay calm and effective in a busy, dynamic environment.
• Strong commercial awareness and customer service focus.
• Motivated to develop leadership skills and grow within the role.
• Supervisory/management experience is an advantage but not essential.

Requirements:

• Valid work rights for Japan.
• Japanese Drivers Licence or International Drivers Permit.
• Strong English communication skills.
• Japanese language skills are an advantage but not necessary.
• Previous rental, retail, or supervisory experience .
