<p><strong>Strategic Deployment Manager, Japan</strong></p> <p>Schrödinger is a leading computational science company headquartered in New York, NY, pioneering the use of physics-based molecular simulation and machine learning to accelerate drug discovery and materials design for the world's top pharmaceutical and biotech organizations.&nbsp; Schrödinger KK, a Japanese subsidiary of Schrödinger, is looking to hire a <strong>Strategic Deployment Manager </strong>to join us in our mission to improve health and quality of life through the development, distribution, and application of advanced computational methods!&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <p>As a member of our Enterprise Informatics team, you will play a vital role in all stages of the Schrödinger platform deployment for customers, from initial project scoping through to long term successful adoption.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <p><a href="https://www.schrodinger.com/platform/">Click here</a> for more information about how the Schrödinger Platform is helping shape the future of collaborative therapeutic design.&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Who will love this job:</strong></p> <ul> <li>A pharmaceutical enterprise software technology expert who understands industry best practices and enjoys interacting with medicinal chemists, computational chemists, biologists, and project leadership to drive change management and new software adoption</li> <li>A scientist who thrives in project management in a corporate research setting (direct experience with pharmaceutical drug discovery is a huge plus!)</li> <li>An effective communicator with excellent organizational skills</li> <li>A customer-service oriented deployment manager who’s passionate about helping drive user success</li> </ul> <p><strong>What you’ll do:</strong></p> <p><strong>Customer Development &amp; Success</strong></p> <ul> <li>Manage LiveDesign implementation projects end-to-end, from early-stage discovery through deployment, training, and sustained adoption</li> <li>Serve as the primary contact for existing accounts, providing responsive support including inquiry resolution, feature utilization guidance, and consultative advice</li> <li>Conduct regular usage monitoring, synthesize customer feedback, and share actionable insights internally to inform product improvement and roadmap decisions</li> </ul> <p><strong>Pre-Sales Activities&nbsp;</strong></p> <ul> <li>Identify and prioritize target accounts within the pharmaceutical and biotech sectors; design strategic engagement approaches tailored to each</li> <li>Plan and execute high-impact value demonstration activities including workshops, seminars, and on-site meetings</li> <li>Lead support Proof of Concept (PoC) engagements with prospective customers, ensuring clear value demonstration and successful execution</li> </ul> <p><strong>Cross-Functional Collaboration</strong></p> <ul> <li>Partner with Account Managers, Application Scientists, Solution Architects, and the Education Team to drive account growth and platform adoption</li> <li>Work closely with Product Management and Engineering to represent real-world customer needs and influence the LiveDesign product roadmap</li> </ul> <p><strong>A Day in the Life of an Strategic Deployment Manager:</strong></p> <p>A typical day involves balancing multiple concurrent responsibilities across different phases of the customer lifecycle.</p> <ul> <li><strong>Pre-Sales: </strong>Lead a scoping call with a potential new customer in preparation for a demo to showcase how LiveDesign addresses their key needs</li> <li><strong>Deployment:</strong> Serve as a project manager, leading calls between internal and external technical teams to resolve current deployment issues and develop plans for longer-term improvements to the customers LiveDesign deployment, such as data integration configuration or troubleshooting SSO</li> <li><strong>Support:</strong> Triage incoming support tickets, replying to end users and relaying product feedback to the relevant internal teams</li> <li><strong>Long-Term Customer Success:</strong> Host an "Office Hours" session to walk end-users through solutions to their specific problems and questions. This may lead to identifying new issues that need to be brought to the Product team’s attention through ticket creation</li> <li><strong>Strategic Work:</strong> Attend an internal product call workflow meeting to review user stories or track feature delivery</li> </ul> <p><strong>What you should have:</strong></p> <ul> <li>BSc in a life science (MSc or PhD preferred)</li> <li>At least three years of experience in a life sciences field related to drug discovery</li> <li>Experience with computational chemistry or cheminformatics in a research setting</li> <li>Experience in leading or coordinating a software project (deployment, adoption, feedback loop)</li> <li>Native Japanese language skills for all business communications, content creation, and market research</li> <li>Business level English communication skills for collaboration with global teams and stakeholders in the other region</li> </ul> <p><strong>Pay and Perks:</strong></p> <p>Schrödinger understands that it’s people that make a company great.
