Navitas is seeking to employ a Student Experience Manager to join our North Americanteam at Western International College in London, Ontario (on-site).


The Student Experience Manager supports the College’s strategic direction, management, and enhancement of student outcomes, student experience, and academic rigor.

 

This role is responsible for overseeing holistic student support services and programming, including student leadership development, peer initiatives, staff leadership and development, and budget oversight, while leading the student experience team and managing a diverse group of student volunteers.


Key Responsibilities

Student Experience, Programming & Engagement

  • Lead the development and delivery of holistic, theory-informed student programming across the student lifecycle
  • Oversee initiatives including orientation, graduation, peer programs, leadership development, alumni engagement, and workshops
  • Design targeted programming for high-achieving and at-risk students, as well as initiatives focused on diversity, inclusivity, and community engagement
  • Ensure a smooth student transition into the College, the University Partner, and life in Canada/USA

Advising, Student Success & Support Systems

  • Provide strategic direction for advising, referral, and advocacy services to support student success, wellbeing, and retention
  • Develop and enhance advising models, including staff training and innovative service delivery approaches
  • Create and maintain academic communication resources and support systems
  • Oversee academic integrity and student conduct processes
  • Engage directly in advising, maintaining strong knowledge of programs, pathways, and student needs

Leadership, Strategy & Operations

  • Support departmental leadership and oversee staff development (professional and paraprofessional)
  • Contribute to and support strategic enrolment management with a focus on retention, student success, and satisfaction
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including data collection, reporting, and analysis
  • Oversee assessment tools (e.g., satisfaction surveys) and drive continuous improvement
  • Manage the student experience/success budget and ensure effective resource allocation
  • Engage with industry best practices in student experience, advising, and development


Essential Skills, Knowledge and Experience

  • A degree in a relevant field from a recognized university
  • Demonstrated ability to develop, promote, implement and evaluate programs that support student services, including those focused on transition, orientation, and retention
  • Demonstrated leadership and coordination skills in the capacity to manage all functions of a busy office
  • Demonstrated high-level interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills, with ability to deal with confidential and sensitive matters
  • Demonstrated analytical and written communication skills that enable the appointee to compile, draft, and present reports and submissions
  • Ability to organize and prioritise multiple issues/tasks
  • Sound knowledge of equal opportunity, equity and workplace health and safety principles and ability to implement them at the strategic and/or operational level
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous quality assurance
  • Experience in the supervision of staff

  • Legal right to work in Canada


Desirable Skills

  • Experience in a higher education environment
  • Experience in a multicultural environment and/or with international students
