About the role
What You'll Do
Clinical Assessment & Treatment
- Conduct comprehensive substance use assessments utilizing validated screening and diagnostic tools.
- Develop individualized treatment plans aligned with ASAM criteria, CCBHC standards, and recovery-oriented care principles.
- Provide evidence-based individual and group counseling services.
- Monitor client progress and modify treatment interventions based on outcomes and clinical needs.
- Maintain timely, accurate, and compliant documentation within the electronic health record (EHR).
Care Coordination & Case Management
- Provide case management and care coordination services for individuals with co-occurring disorders.
- Conduct ongoing mental health screenings and facilitate referrals for integrated treatment services.
- Engage clients through outreach, follow-up, and retention strategies to support treatment participation.
- Collaborate with behavioral health, primary care, and community partners to ensure coordinated care.
Crisis Intervention & Recovery Support
- Deliver crisis intervention, risk assessment, and stabilization services.
- Educate clients and families regarding substance use disorders, Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT), and recovery resources.
- Support clients in accessing community-based services, healthcare appointments, housing, employment, and other recovery supports.
Quality & Compliance
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and program performance monitoring.
- Assist with audits, reporting requirements, and regulatory reviews.
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2, Medicaid, CCBHC, and Rhode Island regulatory requirements.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and clinical training.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's Degree required.
- Active Rhode Island credential in one of the following:
- Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC I or LADC II)
- Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC)
- Licensed Chemical Dependency Professional (LCDP)
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience working with individuals with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders.
- Experience providing substance use assessments, treatment planning, counseling, and case management.
- Experience conducting community outreach and delivering services in community-based settings.
- Strong knowledge of documentation, billing, and compliance requirements associated with Medicaid and behavioral health services.
Preferred
- Experience working within a Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) or integrated care environment.
- Experience coordinating or supporting Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) services.
- Knowledge of ASAM criteria and recovery-oriented systems of care.
