Overview
Diversified Treatment Alternative Centers (DTAC) is seeking dedicated and compassionate Summer School Teachers to support adolescent girls in our residential behavioral health program.
This role offers a unique opportunity to combine academic instruction with therapeutic support, helping students continue their education while developing emotional and behavioral skills in a structured, trauma-informed environment.

Position Summary
The Summer School Teacher provides structured academic instruction for middle and high school students within a residential treatment setting. This role works closely with clinical and residential staff to create a supportive learning environment that promotes academic progress, emotional growth, and positive behavioral outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging instruction aligned with Pennsylvania academic standards
- Develop lesson plans that address diverse learning needs and styles
- Maintain a structured, safe, and trauma-informed classroom environment
- Support students experiencing behavioral, emotional, and mental health challenges
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate academic records
- Implement behavior management strategies aligned with program expectations
- Build positive, supportive relationships with students
- Collaborate with clinical, residential, and leadership staff
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings
- Promote a culture of respect, inclusion, and safety
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field
- Valid Pennsylvania Teaching Certification
- Ability to obtain and maintain required background clearances
- Strong communication and organizational skills
Preferred:
- Experience working with adolescents
- Experience in behavioral health, special education, alternative education, or residential settings
- Knowledge of trauma-informed practices and classroom management strategies

This is an in-person position based in Cranberry Township, PA.
