Surgical Technologist (Darien)

<p><u>Overview:</u></p> <p>This role is generally responsible for providing clinical and administrative support in a vascular medical office. The Surgical Technologist will collaborate with clinical leadership in the performance of the clinical and patient care aspects of his/her duties, and will always act within scope of practice under the authority of attending surgeon and nursing staff.</p> <p>This role will report to the Office Manager for operational matters and to clinical leadership for clinical matters.</p> <p>This role is non-exempt.</p> <p><u>Responsibilities</u>:</p> <ul> <li>Assist in procedure rooms <ul> <li>Assembling&nbsp;surgical&nbsp;packs, supplies and instruments for cases</li> <li>Preparing procedure rooms for&nbsp;cases</li> <li>Maintaining a sterile field</li> <li>Assisting with inventory for procedure rooms</li> <li>Provide technical assistance to physicians and nurses</li> </ul> </li> <li>Assists as needed with daily operations of the clinic and office-based lab, including <ul> <li>Managing office telephone, including answering calls and providing 24 hour call backs to all patients as needed</li> <li>Assisting with scheduling patient appointments and maintaining communication to confirm future appointments</li> <li>Assisting with patient referrals and insurance authorization for procedures</li> <li>Maintaining patient medical information, including medical history and health insurance</li> <li>Maintaining orders and stocks supplies</li> <li>Cleaning and sterilization of equipment</li> </ul> </li> <li>Prepare exam rooms and assist physicians and other clinical staff as needed</li> <li>Maintains HIPAA guidelines</li> <li>Maintain compliance databases</li> </ul> <p><u>Requirements</u>:</p> <ul> <li>Surgical technologist certification or within 6 months of graduation from accredited program</li> <li>BLS certification</li> <li>1+ year experience in a medical setting, ideally surgical</li> <li>Excellent interpersonal skills and exceptional attention to detail</li> <li>Ability to stand for prolonged periods</li> <li>Ability to follow oral and written instructions precisely</li> </ul> <p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Compensation</span></p> <p><em>$29/hour - $37/hour.
