About the role
Job Purpose:
We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic leader to spearhead the development and execution of our regional Cards product strategy & roadmap across five key markets: Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Indonesia, and India. This critical role requires a seasoned professional with extensive experience in the cards industry, a deep understanding of payment schemes, and a proven track record of building successful strategic alliances and partnerships. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving innovation, expanding our product offerings, and leading the charge in the evolving digital payments landscape.
Responsibilities:
Regional Cards Product Strategy: Develop and implement the regional cards product strategy & roadmap (for Credit & Debit), aligning with the overall business objectives and market trends across the five markets. This includes defining product roadmaps, tracking competition, driving innovation and working with payment schemes.
Growth and P&L management: Ensure delivery of financial performance KPIs for the Cards business as per the Group scorecard. Drive growth initiatives within the bank’s risk appetite and ensure strong unit economics for sustained profitability of the business.
Scheme Relationships: Manage relationships with key payment schemes (Visa, Mastercard, UPI, JCB, Amex), negotiate incentive deals, and leverage scheme capabilities to enhance our product offerings.
Regional Partnerships: Leverage industry relationships to drive suitable regional partnerships to enhance product offerings and customer value proposition. This includes negotiating agreements, managing relationships, and ensuring successful implementation of partnerships.
Product Innovation: Drive innovation in the cards space by identifying emerging trends, exploring new technologies, and developing future-oriented products and services. This includes exploring and implementing AI-led innovation, agentic commerce, tokenization, virtual cards and other innovative payment solutions.
Stakeholder Management: Work with a broad set of internal and external stakeholders to deliver KPIs. Collaborate with regional and country teams to provide thought leadership on strategic initiatives, product enhancements and business growth agenda.
Requirements:
Master’s or Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, or a related field.
Minimum 10 years of experience in the cards industry, with a strong focus on product management, strategy, and partnerships.
Extensive experience and established relationships with major card schemes (Visa, Mastercard, Amex, JCB, UPI, etc.).
Proven track record of successfully developing and managing strategic alliances and partnerships.
Solid understanding of digital payment technologies, including mobile wallets, tokenization, and other emerging technologies.
Deep knowledge of cards product economics, pricing strategies, and profitability drivers.
Previous experience in a Group/Regional function or a Country lead role.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and proactively, with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
