System Architect (BACoE)

<p>The System Architect is the technical anchor of the Business Analysis and Architecture Center of Excellence (BACoE). You are responsible for the structural integrity, performance, and long-term scalability of our clients’ technology ecosystems, with NetSuite at the core.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>A proactive and strategic thinker, you combine curiosity, independent initiative, and strong collaboration with the confidence to challenge decisions in the best interest of long-term system health. You set architectural standards, guide complex solution designs, and lead large-scale transformations while mentoring teams and elevating technical excellence across Professional Services.</p> <h3>&nbsp;</h3> <h3><strong>How you’ll make an impact:</strong></h3> <h4><strong>1. Technical Design &amp; Governance (40-60%)</strong></h4> <ul> <li><strong>Strategic Architecture:</strong> Design end-to-end ecosystems with NetSuite at the core, integrating CRM, HRIS, E-Commerce, and WMS.</li> <li><strong>Resilience &amp; Performance:</strong> Prioritize "Good Architecture" by ensuring systems are operationally optimized, decoupled, and built to handle peak loads without incurring technical debt.</li> <li><strong>Integration Strategy:</strong> Lead the design of integration patterns (REST, Webhooks, Middleware) to ensure data freshness and synchronization.</li> <li><strong>Data Stewardship:</strong> Own the roadmap for Master Data Management (MDM), data migration, and archiving to maintain a "Single Source of Truth."</li> <li><strong>Technical Risk Mitigation:</strong> Conduct "spike" investigations and feasibility studies for high-risk custom requirements. You evaluate designs against NetSuite Governor and Volume Limits to ensure solutions are future-proof and do not incur technical debt during peak operational loads.</li> </ul> <h4>&nbsp;</h4> <h4><strong>2. Practice Development &amp; Mentorship (40-60%)</strong></h4> <ul> <li><strong>Standard-Setting:</strong> Define the GURUS Technical Excellence Framework, including coding practices, integration design, and data management standards.</li> <li><strong>Architecture Review Board:</strong> Act as the final quality gate, ensuring all technical designs across the department meet GURUS’ high benchmarks.</li> <li><strong>Asset Creation:</strong> Build a library of "Reference Architectures" and reusable tools to empower our broader Professional Services team.</li> <li><strong>Technical Coaching:</strong> Act as a "Level 3" escalation point and mentor for developers and consultants.</li> <li><strong>Ambassadorship:</strong> Represent GURUS by contributing to blog posts, conferences, publications, whitepapers, webinars and more.</li> </ul> <h3>&nbsp;</h3> <h3><strong>What you bring to the table:</strong></h3> <ul> <li>A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.</li> <li><strong>Integration Mastery:</strong> 5+ years of experience with iPaaS platforms (Boomi, Celigo, Workato) and high-volume API integrations.</li> <li><strong>ERP Ecosystem Expertise: </strong>3+ years of experience designing and supporting enterprise-level ERP solutions. While NetSuite is our core platform, we highly value architects with deep experience in similar ecosystems who are eager to translate their skills into the NetSuite&nbsp;</li> <li><strong>Platform Specific (NetSuite or Equivalent):</strong> deep understanding of core ERP data models, integration tools (SuiteTalk/RESTlet), JavaScript-based development (SuiteScript), and data extract and transformation (SuiteAnalytics)</li> <li><strong>Systems Thinking:</strong> The ability to see the "ripple effects" of technical decisions across a multi-platform ecosystem.</li> <li><strong>Documentation Excellence:</strong> Proficiency in translating complex logic into professional diagrams (Lucid, Visio) for both developers and C-suite stakeholders.</li> <li><strong>Communication:</strong> &nbsp;Highly skilled in customer presentation tailoring to technical and non-technical audiences. Exceptional written and verbal communication in both English and French *&nbsp;<em>This position requires proficiency in a language other than French due to the fact that 75% of our clients operate in English</em></li> <li><strong>Strategic Backbone:</strong> The professional courage to challenge a design if it jeopardizes the long-term health of the system.</li> <li><strong>Travel:</strong> Occasional travel may be required, including to the United States.
