Systems Administrator-Journeyman

<p>Overview:<br data-start="93" data-end="96">G2IT is seeking a Systems Administrator – Journeyman to support client-facing strategic initiatives and ensure the seamless implementation and maintenance of automated solutions. In this role, you will collaborate on large and complex programs, contribute to high-visibility or mission-critical projects, and help refine the strategic vision for G2IT’s IT Service Management operations in support of both the company and our clients.</p> <p data-start="533" data-end="747">As a Systems Administrator – Journeyman, you will perform a wide range of system administration duties independently and may oversee the work of junior team members or manage all staff assigned to specific tasks.</p> <p data-start="749" data-end="772">Key Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li data-start="775" data-end="911">Install and configure new software releases, perform system upgrades, evaluate and apply patches, and resolve software-related issues.</li> <li data-start="914" data-end="986">Perform regular system backups and recovery to ensure data protection.</li> <li data-start="989" data-end="1081">Maintain data files and monitor system configurations to ensure integrity and performance.</li> <li data-start="1084" data-end="1159">Manage the functionality and efficiency of one or more operating systems.</li> <li data-start="1162" data-end="1367">Set up administrator and service accounts, maintain system documentation, tune system performance, install system-wide software, validate and implement critical system patches, and allocate mass storage.</li> <li data-start="1370" data-end="1437">Assist with scheduling, planning, and overseeing system upgrades.</li> <li data-start="1440" data-end="1593">Develop functional requirements through collaboration with end users and coordinate with development teams to implement system enhancements or changes.</li> <li data-start="1596" data-end="1692">Monitor and control computer operating systems, ensuring optimal performance and availability.</li> <li data-start="1695" data-end="1805">Assist in identifying methods and techniques for improving system operations and troubleshooting procedures.</li> </ul> <p data-start="1807" data-end="1824">Requirements:</p> <ul> <li data-start="2349" data-end="2396">Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in a related field.</li> <li data-start="2399" data-end="2443">Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.</li> <li data-start="2446" data-end="2474">S. Citizenship required.</li> <li data-start="2477" data-end="2517">Active DoD Secret Clearance (minimum).</li> <li data-start="2520" data-end="2564" data-is-last-node="">CompTIA Security+ certification (minimum).</li> </ul> <p><em>Annual Salary $</em><em>72-78k, depending on experience</em></p>
