Position: Teaching Assistant – SEMH Focus
Type: Full-time, Permanent

Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with SEMH needs, helping them to engage in learning and develop coping strategies.
- Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Behaviour Support Plans (BSPs) in collaboration with teachers and SEN staff.
- Foster a positive and calm classroom environment that supports emotional regulation and social interaction.
- Monitor and track student progress, providing regular feedback to teachers and parents on emotional and academic development.
- Work closely with the pastoral team to address emotional and behavioural challenges, promoting positive mental health and well-being.
- Participate in extra-curricular activities and interventions that focus on social skills development and emotional resilience.
Experience and Qualifications:
- Experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs is essential.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build trusting relationships with students.
- A compassionate, patient, and resilient approach to supporting students with emotional and behavioural difficulties.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and parents.
- Relevant qualifications in education, youth work, or mental health support (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification) are desirable.
- A DBS check is required.
