About the role

As Team Leader, you will lead a multidisciplinary clinical team, holding responsibility for clinical quality, service delivery, and team performance. You will play a key role in supporting complex decision-making, strengthening internal capability, and driving continuous improvement in practice.

What you’ll do

  • Provide clinical oversight and guidance across the service
  • Support complex assessments and high-risk case decision-making
  • Ensure safe, ethical, and evidence-informed practice
  • Oversee the use and interpretation of psychometric tools
  • Maintain accountability for clinical quality and client outcomes  
  • Lead, coach and develop a high-performing clinical team
  • Provide clinical supervision and performance development
  • Build internal capability and foster a positive team culture
  • Manage referrals, caseloads, and resource allocation
  • Ensure services meet contractual, quality, and reporting requirements
  • Support efficient and effective service delivery

What you bring

You are an experienced clinician and leader who brings both clinical expertise and strong people leadership capability.

You will have:

  • A postgraduate qualification in psychology, counselling, social work, education or a related field with current professional registration (e.g. NZ Psychologists Board, NZAC, SWRB)
  • Advanced clinical experience, including assessment and intervention
  • Strong knowledge or working experience with trauma informed practice
  • Strong knowledge of psychometric tools and their interpretation
  • Experience providing clinical supervision
  • A deep understanding of the Aotearoa New Zealand context and culturally responsive practice
