Technical Buyer - Composites

Key Responsibilities

• Procuring and expediting a wide range of components and assemblies used across Formula One car development and associated engineering activities.
• Managing supplier performance to ensure delivery schedules, quality requirements, and cost objectives are achieved.
• Coordinating material logistics and ensuring suppliers have the resources and information required to deliver on time.
• Maintaining accurate procurement and supply data within ERP systems to support operational performance and KPI achievement.
• Communicating supply chain risks, challenges, and delays to key stakeholders across the business.
• Working closely with suppliers to reduce lead times, improve responsiveness, and deliver best value.
• Supporting the onboarding and development of new suppliers in partnership with the Supplier Quality Team.
• Building and maintaining strong relationships across the supply chain and internal departments.
• Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance procurement efficiency and supply chain capability.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

• Proven experience in technical procurement, ideally within Formula One, motorsport, automotive, aerospace, or a similarly demanding engineering environment.
• Strong understanding of component manufacturing and assembly processes across composites, metallics, electronics, and workshop equipment.
• Experience working with MRP/ERP systems such as Epicor, SAP, IFS, or similar platforms.
• Excellent supplier management and stakeholder communication skills.
• Strong commercial awareness with the ability to balance quality, cost, and lead time considerations.
• Ability to make confident decisions and deliver results under pressure and within tight deadlines.
• Highly organised with strong attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities.
• A proactive, self-motivated approach and the ability to thrive in a fast-moving environment.
• Resilient and adaptable in a rapidly changing environment.
