Apprentice Technician (MCAST)

We are looking for an enthusiastic person to join our Development and Engineering Department in the position of Apprentice Technician. 

What you will learn:

• Learn and assist in the set-up of machinery, including line layouts and the organization of equipment.

• Support line effectiveness by assisting with basic interventions under supervision to help minimize downtime.
• Assist with the movement of equipment using the appropriate tools and machinery while following safety procedures.
• Support planned Preventive Maintenance activities and gain understanding of maintenance schedules and procedures.
• Learn the basics of mechanical installations and develop an understanding of equipment operating principles.
• Assist with fabrication tasks, including welding, hot works, and the safe use of power tools under supervision.
• Learn and assist in the maintenance of hot runners.
• Support machinery setting and changeover activities under guidance.
• Assist in the interfacing and connection of equipment.
• Support electrical installation works as required and under supervision.
• Learn troubleshooting techniques for machinery and assist in identifying and reporting faults.
• Carry out administrative duties related to the role, including the use of Microsoft Office applications, maintaining handovers, using internal systems, and updating back-up libraries.
• Gain exposure to basic programming activities on equipment and automation systems.
• Learn to assist in producing technical designs using Inventor, AutoCAD, or similar software.
• Perform other maintenance-related duties as assigned and agreed with management.
• Provide technical support to other departments according to production requirements while developing practical skills and experience.

Requirements

• Currently following a technical course at MCAST in one of the below courses:
  • MCAST Diploma in Manufacturing Engineering
    
  • MCAST Advanced Diploma in Operations and Maintenance
  • MCAST Advanced Diploma in Manufacturing
