Come join us on our mission to inspire a lifelong love of science in everyone and help advance our vision of a world where science belongs to each of us for the good of all of us.</p> <h4><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Why We Need You</span></h4> <p class="isSelectedEnd">We are seeking a temporary, full-time Supervisor, Gifts &amp; Grants to ensure continuity of critical grant and restricted fund operations during a high-demand period, including year-end close and audit activities. This role provides hands-on, end-to-end management of gifts and grants, supporting both proposal development and post-award financial oversight to maintain compliance and service levels across the Museum.</p> <p class="isSelectedEnd"><span style="color: rgb(224, 62, 45);"><strong>This is a temporary position expected to continue through October 31, 2026.</strong></span></p> <h4><span style="text-decoration: underline;">What You'll Accomplish</span></h4> <ul data-spread="false"> <li>Manage the full lifecycle of gifts and grants, including proposal support, award setup, financial tracking, reporting, and closeout.</li> <li>Partner with Advancement and internal stakeholders to develop and submit grant proposals, including budgets and required documentation.</li> <li>Ensure budgetary and financial information is accurate, complete, timely, and compliant with donor restrictions, grant agreements, and applicable regulations.</li> <li>Monitor expenditures against gifts and grants, ensuring alignment with restrictions and contractual commitments and identifying and resolving issues as needed.</li> <li>Maintain accurate records of restricted fund activity, including commitments, expenditures, pledges, and balances across systems.</li> <li>Support month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting.</li> <li>Prepare audit schedules and supporting documentation and respond to auditor requests related to financial and grant audits.</li> <li>Process and review invoices, payment requests, and transactions to ensure accuracy and compliance with award requirements.</li> <li>Provide day-to-day guidance to departments regarding allowable spending, restrictions, and fund availability.</li> </ul> <h4><span style="text-decoration: underline;">What We're Looking For (Competencies)</span></h4> <h4>Core Competencies:</h4> <ul> <li class="isSelectedEnd">Execution &amp; Accountability: Ability to independently manage high-volume, detail-oriented work with minimal ramp-up.</li> <li class="isSelectedEnd">Attention to Detail: Ensures accuracy across financial data, proposals, and compliance documentation.</li> <li class="isSelectedEnd">Collaboration: Works effectively across Finance, Advancement, and program teams.</li> <li class="isSelectedEnd">Problem Solving: Identifies and resolves compliance, budget, or documentation issues in a timely manner.</li> <li class="isSelectedEnd">Communication: Clearly explains grant and financial requirements to non-financial stakeholders.</li> </ul> <h4>Qualifications &amp; Experience:</h4> <ul data-spread="false"> <li>Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.</li> <li>Experience managing grants, restricted funds, or nonprofit finance across the full award lifecycle.</li> <li>Experience with grant proposal development, budgeting, and post-award financial management.</li> <li>Knowledge of restricted fund accounting, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), and/or Uniform Guidance.</li> <li>Ability to manage multiple priorities and concurrent deadlines in a fast-paced environment.</li> </ul> <h4><span style="text-decoration: underline;">How We Work — Our Values</span></h4> <p class="isSelectedEnd"><strong>Mission-Focused: </strong>We inspire a lifelong love of science in everyone.</p> <p class="isSelectedEnd"><strong>Audience-Driven: </strong>Everything we do begins with the people we serve.</p> <p class="isSelectedEnd"><strong>Innovative: </strong>We are curious, take smart risks, share responsibility, and own outcomes.</p> <p><strong>Generous: </strong>We contribute our time and energy toward common goals.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p><div class="content-pay-transparency"><div class="pay-input"><div class="title">Salary Range</div><div class="pay-range"><span>$36</span><span class="divider">&mdash;</span><span>$41.49 USD</span></div></div></div><div class="content-conclusion"><div class="row text-left"> <div class="col-md-8"> <div id="job_detail" class="bootstrap-area" data-v-app=""> <div data-v-504c49ba=""> <div data-v-504c49ba="">&nbsp;</div> <div data-v-504c49ba=""><em>The Museum of Science is fully committed to Equal Employment Opportunity and to attracting, retaining, developing and promoting the most qualified employees without regard to their race, gender, color, religion, sexual orientation, national origin, age, physical or mental disability, citizenship status, veteran status, or any other characteristic prohibited by federal, state or local law.
