About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing and cooking meals on a teppan in front of guests.
- Creating a fun and engaging atmosphere.
- Interacting with guests and explaining the dishes being prepared.
- Maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene.
- Managing inventory and ordering supplies as needed.
- Training and supervising junior kitchen staff.
- Developing new menu items.
- Ensuring the kitchen is clean and well-maintained.
- Working closely with the restaurant manager to ensure a high-quality dining experience.
- Handling customer complaints and queries professionally.
Job Requirements
- Proven experience as a Teppanyaki Chef.
- Excellent knife skills.
- Knowledge of Japanese cuisine.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure in a busy environment.
- Understanding of food safety and hygiene regulations (HACCP).
- Ability to manage inventory and order supplies.
- Ability to train and supervise junior kitchen staff.
- Creativity in developing new menu items.
- Ability to handle customer complaints and queries professionally.
