We also foster a culture built on high performance, collaboration, continuous improvement, and ongoing professional development.</span></p></div><p><strong>Summary:</strong>&nbsp;</p> <p>This role will support Brake Performance engineering test and development activities.</p> <p><strong>Responsibilities:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Lead and execute vehicle braking tests at external proving grounds, public roads, and specialized test facilities, ensuring adherence to rigorous test cycles and safety protocols.<span class="Apple-converted-space">&nbsp;</span></li> <li>Develop brake performance and braking comfort through<span class="Apple-converted-space">&nbsp;</span></li> <li>Test and develop the harmonious interaction between brake and drivetrain actuators</li> <li>Develop &amp; track metrics and targets for vehicle-level performance<span class="Apple-converted-space">&nbsp;</span></li> <li>Pass down requirements to systems and components<span class="Apple-converted-space">&nbsp;</span></li> <li>Develop and refine testing methodologies to improve accuracy and efficiency<span class="Apple-converted-space">&nbsp;</span></li> <li>Support simulation development to predict vehicle performance<span class="Apple-converted-space">&nbsp;</span></li> <li>Implement innovative technical concepts and solutions that enable optimal brake performance<span class="Apple-converted-space">&nbsp;</span></li> <li>Execute vehicle validation and lead data analysis and issue resolution<span class="Apple-converted-space">&nbsp;</span></li> <li>Monitor fleet performance via dashboards<span class="Apple-converted-space">&nbsp;</span></li> <li>Lead and report on FMVSS-related testing<span class="Apple-converted-space">&nbsp;</span></li> <li>Utilize data acquisition tools to collect data, analyze and report results.<span class="Apple-converted-space">&nbsp;</span></li> <li>Perform vehicle tuning and instrument vehicles for objective tests.<span class="Apple-converted-space">&nbsp;</span></li> <li>Analyze and resolve complex problems independently or with minimal guidance.<span class="Apple-converted-space">&nbsp;</span></li> <li>Negotiate with other departments internally and suppliers externally to meet the spec requirements.<span class="Apple-converted-space">&nbsp;</span></li> <li>Search new ways to increase overall efficiency, utilize up-to-date technology.<span class="Apple-converted-space">&nbsp;</span></li> <li>Travel to client / test sites required.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Qualifications:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 5+ years of brake testing experience<span class="Apple-converted-space">&nbsp;</span></li> <li>Education with the following specialties preferred: Mechanical, Mechanical Technology, Aerospace, Automotive, Manufacturing.<span class="Apple-converted-space">&nbsp;</span></li> <li>Minimum 5 yrs experience with brake development and vehicle testing experience<span class="Apple-converted-space">&nbsp;</span></li> <li>Excellent understanding of hydraulic braking system and/or electro mechanical braking systems including controllers and stability functions<span class="Apple-converted-space">&nbsp;</span></li> <li>Familiarity with physical full vehicle driving experience on different surface conditions (snow, ice etc.)<span class="Apple-converted-space">&nbsp;</span></li> <li>Ability to test in vehicle at or near the physical limits of the vehicle<span class="Apple-converted-space">&nbsp;</span></li> <li>Experience in vehicle-level and bench level brake integration<span class="Apple-converted-space">&nbsp;</span></li> <li>Hands-on experience with vehicles, instrumentation, and data acquisition<span class="Apple-converted-space">&nbsp;</span></li> <li>Familiarity with FMVSS related braking tests<span class="Apple-converted-space">&nbsp;</span></li> <li>Willingness to frequently travel within the continental US (within CA, AZ, MI, OH, MN)<span class="Apple-converted-space">&nbsp;</span></li> <li>Experience with brake performance tools and software (ex: CANalyzer, INCA, MDA, MATLAB/Simulink, Racelogic VBOX)<span class="Apple-converted-space">&nbsp;</span></li> <li>Test track / driving experience required for test driving.<span class="Apple-converted-space">&nbsp;</span></li> <li>Strong written and verbal communication skills<span class="Apple-converted-space">&nbsp;</span></li> <li>Proficiency in MS office</li> <li>Formula SAE (FSAE), BAJA SAE, EcoCar, Mini BAJA SAE, experience preferred<span class="Apple-converted-space">&nbsp;</span></li> <li>Hands on experience with wrenching and vehicle instrumentation preferred.</li> </ul><div class="content-pay-transparency"><div class="pay-input"><div class="description"><p>The pay range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base pay only.
