About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate truck drivers’ schedules and routes.
- Plan and optimize routes for efficiency.
- Communicate with drivers and provide route updates.
- Serve as the point of contact for clients on delivery status.
- Resolve issues related to delays, breakdowns, or weather.
- Monitor driver progress via GPS tracking systems.
- Ensure compliance with trucking regulations and safety standards.
- Maintain accurate dispatch records and trip details.
- Minimize logistics costs and downtime.
- Manage emergency situations like accidents or breakdowns.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Experience in dispatching, logistics, or transportation management.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make decisions under pressure.
- Proficiency with dispatch software, GPS tracking systems, and communication tools.
- Knowledge of trucking regulations, hours-of-service laws, and safety compliance.
- Ability to multitask and manage multiple drivers and schedules simultaneously.
- High level of attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
