About the role
The company
Founded on 14th April 1900 in Paris, the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) is the world governing body for cycling.
Its mission is to develop and supervise cycling in all its forms and for everybody, as a competitive sport, as a healthy recreational activity and as a means of transport.
Additionally, the UCI promotes a number of its own events, including the UCI Road World Championships, an iconic annual event, and a wide range of other UCI World Championships and World Cups across the various disciplines.
It is based in Aigle, Switzerland, at the UCI World Cycling Centre.
Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) has been EDGE ‘Move’ certified since January 2022. EDGE certification is the international reference standard for organisations in terms of gender equity. The UCI is the first international sports federation to be EDGE ’Move’ certified.
Missions
1. Define UCI’s partnership and merchandising strategy
Contribute to the design and development of marketing, sponsorship, and communication packages (marketing rights, hospitality, activations, digital) with the commercial team
Design and update marketing and sponsorship packages
Identify innovative revenue opportunities and propose new marketing concepts
2. Oversee partnership and merchandising programs management & activation
Manage relationships with partners: coordination, meetings, communication, and corporate events
Supervise the delivery of all marketing rights and digital activations across events.
Define and validate the allocation of marketing rights for each event
Oversee marketing and merchandising activities, validate local partners, and organize site visits with sponsors and LOCs
Ensure marketing and merchandising follow-up across all events and LOC (Local Organising Committee) contracts
Lead the renegotiation of existing contracts
Develop initiatives beyond contractual scope to enhance partnership value
Deploy and oversee the merchandising strategy for the UCI “Rainbow” brand
Approve product ranges, select production and distribution partners, and ensure proper brand usage compliance.
3. Ensure team management, cross functional coordination and reporting
Prepare, analyze, and monitor marketing and partnerships budgets.
Oversee and lead the marketing partnerships and sponsorship team.
Contribute to digital projects in collaboration with the digital marketing team.
Profile
👉 7 to 10 years of experience in marketing and / or partnerships, preferably in an international sports or events environment
👉 Proven experience in team management and coordination of international projects
👉 Experience in merchandising and marketing activations at sporting events
👉 Interest in sports, ideally cycling
👉 Thrives in interpersonal relationships and international contexts
Skills
👉 Expertise in designing marketing packages and managing partnerships
👉 Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with partners and local organizing committees
👉 Proven ability to renegotiate contracts and deliver marketing activations at sporting events
👉 Creative mindset to propose innovative marketing concepts and digital activations
👉 Full proficiency in French and English, both written and spoken
👉 Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
