We’re looking for a motivated and experienced Utility Worker II to join our Power Generation team at the Hydro Generation Operation Facility in Fresh Pond, about 60 miles east of Sacramento and 15 miles east of Placerville. You’ll perform semi-skilled and technical duties mainly focused on hydroelectric equipment and remote facility maintenance. This job covers a range of trades including HVACR, building automation, fire safety systems, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, locksmithing, painting, and civil maintenance.

 

As a Utility Worker II, you’ll work independently and as part of a team to ensure SMUD’s hydroelectric assets and infrastructure run smoothly and efficiently. Your work will help us keep our reputation for safe, reliable, and environmentally responsible energy production. This role will be an on-site role that will require being in person at one of SMUD's campuses daily to complete work tasks.
