If you are enthusiastic, reliable, and excited about helping us maintain our high standards of animal care and customer service, we would love to hear from you!</p> <p><strong>What to Expect</strong></p> <p>As you join our mission to provide progressive, high-quality, compassionate medical and surgical care for your canine and feline family members, expect to be supported in your work and home life with:</p> <ul> <li><strong>401(k) with a generous company match </strong>to help you invest in your future while you care for pets today.</li> <li><strong>Employee pet discounts! </strong>Because we know your pets are family, too.</li> <li><strong>Employee referral bonus.</strong> Earn $1,000 when you refer a new team member to one of our 180+ partner hospitals across the country.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Salary: </strong>$16.00 - $18.00 per hour, determined by the candidate's skills, experience, and qualifications.</p> <p><strong>S</strong><strong>chedule: </strong>This is a part-time position (up to 30 hrs/week).</p> <ul class="[li_&amp;]:mb-0 [li_&amp;]:mt-1 [li_&amp;]:gap-1 [&amp;:not(:last-child)_ul]:pb-1 [&amp;:not(:last-child)_ol]:pb-1 list-disc flex flex-col gap-1 pl-8 mb-3"> <li class="font-claude-response-body whitespace-normal break-words pl-2">Tuesday, Wednesday &amp; Friday: 7:30 AM – 5:30 PM</li> <li class="font-claude-response-body whitespace-normal break-words pl-2">Saturday &amp; Sunday: 7:30 AM – 8:30 AM and 4:30 PM – 5:30 PM (split shift)</li> </ul> <p><strong>Assistant Responsibilities:&nbsp;</strong></p> <ul> <li>Must be fine working as a dual role between veterinary assistant and a kennel attendant.</li> <li>Assist veterinarians and vet techs during examinations, treatments, and surgeries.</li> <li>Handle and restrain animals safely and compassionately</li> <li>Prepare examination rooms and surgical areas by cleaning and sterilizing equipment and surfaces</li> <li>Perform basic laboratory tests, such as collecting blood, urine, and stool samples</li> <li>Administer medications and vaccinations under the supervision of a veterinarian</li> <li>Feed, bathe, and exercise animals as needed</li> <li>Maintain accurate medical records</li> <li>Communicate with pet owners about their pets’ care, treatment plans, and follow-up visits</li> <li>Clean and maintain the clinic, including stocking supplies and ensuring a safe and sanitary environment</li> </ul> <p><strong>Kennel Responsibilities:&nbsp;</strong></p> <ul> <li>Monitor the health and comfort of animals, recognize and respond to emergency situations, and report health concerns.</li> <li>Document treatments, activities, and observations.</li> <li>Walk dogs in all weather conditions.</li> <li>Feed and provide scheduled fresh water to dogs and cats.</li> <li>Maintain cleanliness by washing dishes, bowls, litter boxes, kennels, and cages.</li> <li>Change and replace soiled bedding and manage laundry tasks.</li> <li>Bathe animals as necessary before discharge.</li> <li>Perform general housekeeping duties in animal housing, food preparation, and laundry areas.</li> <li>Administer oral and topical medications, including flea and tick treatments.</li> <li>Assist with checking in and out boarding patients, ensuring proper labeling and ID collars.</li> <li>Identify and alleviate stress in boarding animals through interactive play and mental stimulation.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Qualifications:</strong></p> <ul> <li>At least 1 year of veterinary experience is preferred</li> <li>Technical know-how in areas such as disinfection, administering medication, and using diagnostic equipment.</li> <li>Physical ability to handle animals safely and compassionately.</li> </ul> <p><strong>About Mission Road Animal Clinic<br></strong>Welcome to Mission Road Animal Clinic, where our goal is to become your standard in veterinary medicine in the Prairie Village, KS community.
