About the role
<p><strong>Quartet Veterinary Specialty Hospital</strong> in<strong> Cary, NC</strong> is seeking an experienced <strong>Emergency Veterinary Nurse Manager </strong>to lead the launch and development of our new Urgent Care service, the first phase of our exciting transition into a full-service 24/7 Emergency and Specialty Hospital.</p>
<p>This is a unique opportunity to help shape a growing emergency department from the ground up, influence hospital culture, and make a lasting impact on patient care, client experience, and team development.</p>
<p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Lead and develop the ER/ICU nursing team through coaching, training, performance management, and mentorship.</li>
<li>Oversee staffing, scheduling, hiring, onboarding, and daily departmental operations.</li>
<li>Partner with veterinarians, specialists, and hospital leadership to ensure exceptional patient care and efficient workflows.</li>
<li>Support departmental growth, operational excellence, and a positive, accountable team culture.</li>
<li>Coordinate training and continuing education initiatives to promote clinical excellence.</li>
<li>Provide clinical leadership and support daily case flow as part of a growing 24/7 emergency service.</li>

<p><strong>Qualifications:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Credentialed veterinary technician (LVT, RVT, CVT) with 3-5 years of emergency medicine experience.</li>
<li>Leadership experience of 3-5 years required, with experience of at least 2 years in veterinary ER/Specialty medicine.</li>
<li>Values the importance of accountability, the need to always act in the best interest of the patient and assumes positive intent when interacting with others.</li>
<li>Has a genuine interest in connecting with clients, referring veterinarians, and the community we serve.</li>
<li>Fear Free and RECOVER certification preferred</li>
