About the role
Volunteer Role: Volunteer Coordinator
Reports to: CEO
FLSA Classification: Volunteer Position
Job purpose
Volunteer position. Recruiting through onboarding and providing administrative support to all volunteers. Maintain volunteer records, data, contracts, and databases.
Duties and responsibilities
- Recruit volunteers and interns
- Review resumes and volunteer applications and interview volunteer candidates.
- Discuss volunteer candidates with Department Directors, assist them in the interview process, and offer or decline the volunteer a position
- Schedule interviews with appropriate department heads
- Manage volunteer and intern schedules
- Oversee onboarding orientation
- Administrative tasks, such as organizing onboarding processes, volunteer events, and time-off requests in BambooHR software
- Help volunteers and interns fill out paperwork and understand company brand, mission and policies
- Review volunteer reimbursement requests, work with CFO to fill these requests
- Work closely with Director of Human Resources and CEO to strengthen the organization’s culture
- Work closely with the Director of Human Resources and Account Manager to maintain and update profile information of interns and volunteers on LINC’s applications and platforms (i.e. NeonCRM, BambooHR, Google G-Suite)
- Maintain records related to Board of Director and Volunteer onboarding, account access, training, discipline, and termination
- Work with the Director of Human Resources to schedule and conduct training programs, evaluate the effectiveness of training programs, and maintain records of volunteers’ participation in training and development programs.
- Work with future Trip Coordinator/Director of International Development to recruit, manage, and train volunteers for International Volunteer Trips- (for long-term and short -term involvement)
- Manage and review results of volunteers’ background checks
Qualifications
- Ability to communicate promptly and effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Work with documentation requiring a high level of confidentiality.
- PC skills utilizing Word and Excel.
- Subject to background check
Education and Experience
1. Associates or bachelor’s degree or equivalent role and responsibilities.
2. 4+ years of increasing experience in Human Resources.
3. Previous experience with benefit evaluation is a plus.
Certifications None required.
Working Conditions
- Willingness to put in more working hours, even at odd times.
- The majority of work for this role is remote, however face-to-face tasks/meetings may be required at times
- Optional international travel with volunteers.
Physical requirements
This position operates in a remote office environment and remote/virtually. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
If traveling internationally: ability to lift a suitcase for travel, walk a distance in a foreign country possibly in inclement weather, sit for long periods of time during travel. Comply with international travel requirements.
