If you join our team, you’ll be contributing to building the technology that powers the future.</p> <h2>About the Role</h2> <p>We’re hiring a <span class="textBold">VP, Legal - Construction </span> to lead the end-to-end design, development, and delivery of Nscale’s data centre infrastructure across the UK and broader EMEA region.</p> <p>In this role, you will sit at the centre of Nscale’s infrastructure expansion, connecting <span class="textBold">design, engineering, construction, procurement, vendor management, operations, finance, and commercial teams</span>. You will lead major programmes across multiple sites, support technical and commercial negotiations for colocation partnerships, and help shape infrastructure requirements that enable growth.</p> <p>This role is critical to Nscale’s ability to deliver <span class="textBold">high-quality, energy-efficient, and scalable facilities</span> that meet demanding operational standards. Your leadership will directly influence how we expand across Europe and other strategic markets, standardise regional design frameworks, and execute infrastructure projects with speed, quality, and commercial discipline.</p> <h2>What you'll be doing</h2> <p><strong><strong class="textBold">Design, Engineering &amp; Delivery</strong></strong></p> <ul> <li value="1"><span class="textBold">Lead</span> all legal aspects of data centre design, engineering, and construction across projects</li> <li value="2"><span class="textBold">Oversee</span> end-to-end project development from early planning through construction and commissioning.</li> <li value="3"><span class="textBold">Deliver</span> facilities to world-class standards of quality, safety, and operational performance.</li> <li value="4"><span class="textBold">Drive</span> the execution of complex, multi-site infrastructure programmes across the region.</li> </ul> <p><strong><strong class="textBold">Expansion &amp; Infrastructure Strategy</strong></strong></p> <ul> <li value="1"><span class="textBold">Lead</span> global expansion initiatives, including new site development across Europe and other strategic markets.</li> <li value="2"><span class="textBold">Shape</span> infrastructure requirements that support Nscale’s broader growth plans.</li> <li value="3"><span class="textBold">Support</span> new site development activities across the full development lifecycle.</li> <li value="4"><span class="textBold">Champion</span> scalable and energy-efficient approaches to regional data centre delivery.</li> </ul> <p><strong><strong class="textBold">Commercial &amp; Contractual Leadership</strong></strong></p> <ul> <li value="1"><span class="textBold">Support</span> technical and commercial negotiations for colocation partnerships.</li> <li value="2"><span class="textBold">Lead</span> infrastructure-related commercial negotiations with suppliers and partners.</li> <li value="3"><span class="textBold">Execute</span> EPC, supplier, and colocation contracts aligned to commercial and operational objectives.</li> <li value="4"><span class="textBold">Manage</span> procurement activities to ensure effective cost control and delivery outcomes.</li> </ul> <p><strong><strong class="textBold">Vendor &amp; Cross-Functional Management</strong></strong></p> <ul> <li value="1"><span class="textBold">Establish</span> a strong vendor ecosystem with clear governance and performance oversight.</li> <li value="2"><span class="textBold">Coordinate</span> closely with construction, operations, finance, and commercial teams to maintain alignment.</li> <li value="3"><span class="textBold">Mitigate</span> project risks proactively and <span class="textBold">escalate</span> issues when necessary.</li> <li value="4"><span class="textBold">Drive</span> continuous improvement across the design and construction domain through standardised frameworks and technical specifications.</li> </ul> <h2>About You</h2> <ul> <li value="1"><span class="textBold">12+ PQE lawyer</span>&nbsp;leading large-scale construction, infrastructure, or mission-critical development programmes</li> <li value="2">Extensive experience delivering <span class="textBold">large-scale data centre or mission-critical infrastructure</span> design and construction programmes</li> <li value="3">Proven track record managing <span class="textBold">complex, multi-site projects</span> across the <span class="textBold">UK and/or EMEA</span></li> <li value="4">Strong experience in <span class="textBold">non-contentious construction, major infrastructure, or large-scale industrial development</span></li> <li value="5">Significant experience in <span class="textBold">vendor management, facilities management, procurement, and commercial negotiation</span></li> <li value="6">Strong understanding of the full development lifecycle, including <span class="textBold">land acquisition, permitting, design, construction, and commissioning</span></li> <li value="7">Expertise in <span class="textBold">colocation contracting</span> and customer-driven technical requirements</li> <li value="8">Demonstrated ability to identify <span class="textBold">commercial and legal risk</span> and develop pragmatic solutions</li> <li value="9">Strong leadership skills with the ability to <span class="textBold">influence senior stakeholders</span> and drive cross-functional alignment</li> <li value="10">Well-organised, highly responsive, and comfortable working through <span class="textBold">ambiguity, competing demands, and global complexity</span></li> </ul> <h2>What we can offer you</h2> <p>At Nscale, you'll find a collaborative, supportive, and innovative environment where your contributions spark real impact.
