<p><span data-contrast="auto"><strong>Important: </strong>This position will manage Civil Engineering design projects related to Water or Wastewater Infrastructure. It is not related to IT, software, technology, or any other type of project management so candidates with those backgrounds will not be considered.<br></span></p>
<p><span data-contrast="auto">Our Northeast Division is a well-respected and award-winning group where career development, training, and mentoring co-exist with diverse civil, environmental, water resources, and traffic/transportation projects in a fast-paced and challenging work environment.</span><span data-ccp-props="{}"> </span></p>
<p><span data-contrast="auto">Apex is seeking a talented Water or Wastewater Project Manager to support New England based projects. The selected employee will provide technical leadership for a variety of water or wastewater system design-related projects, including treatment plants, pump/booster stations, and water distribution systems. </span><span data-ccp-props="{}"> <span data-contrast="auto">We are offering a sign-on bonus and will consider relocation for the right candidate. These will be hybrid roles and can be located in any of our New England offices located in Greater Boston, Providence, RI, or Glastonbury, CT.</span></span></p>
<p><strong><span data-contrast="auto">Primary Responsibilities:</span></strong><span data-ccp-props="{}"> </span></p>
<ul>
<li><span data-contrast="auto">Manages project implementation with assigned project team</span><span data-contrast="auto"> and follows</span> <span data-contrast="auto">all </span><span data-contrast="auto">company policies and operating procedures. This includes keeping the client informed of the on-going status of a project and providing adequate management, advice, and support to the members of the project team</span><span data-ccp-props="{}"> </span></li>
<li><span data-contrast="auto">Initiates projects by developing proposals/scopes of work and project budgets for approval by</span><span data-contrast="auto"> the</span><span data-contrast="auto"> Principal. For assigned projects, completes project initiation documents that includes detailed scope/outline, budget, and schedule for completion.</span><span data-ccp-props="{}"> </span></li>
<li><span data-contrast="auto">Supervises and directs individuals or teams of technical staff on projects</span><span data-contrast="auto"> and a</span><span data-contrast="auto">ssists in the training and tec</span><span data-contrast="auto">h</span><span data-contrast="auto">nical development of staff by holding training seminars, providing technical guidance during project execution, and bringing new technical developments in-house.</span><span data-ccp-props="{}"> </span></li>
<li><span data-contrast="auto">Consults with other technical staff and Project Managers on technical challenges in the drinking water discipline while also providing independent technical reviews on projects for other water discipline leaders.</span><span data-ccp-props="{}"> </span></li>
<li><span data-contrast="auto">Oversees the technical accuracy of project through regular communications with project staff, review of plans, specifications, reports, and calculations to ensure compliance with the firm's standards.</span><span data-ccp-props="{}"> </span></li>
<li><span data-contrast="auto">Tracks all projects costs, including labor and expenses, versus the project, and ensures that invoices are issued to the client in a timely manner in accordance with company policy.</span><span data-ccp-props="{}"> </span></li>
<li><span data-contrast="auto">Other tasks may include proposal preparation,</span> <span data-contrast="auto">participating in </span><span data-contrast="auto">project interviews, </span><span data-contrast="auto">attending </span><span data-contrast="auto">public meetings, develop</span><span data-contrast="auto">ing</span><span data-contrast="auto"> fee proposals, preparing</span><span data-contrast="auto"> contracts and present</span><span data-contrast="auto">ing</span><span data-contrast="auto"> information to new and future potential clients</span><span data-ccp-props="{}"> </span></li>

<p><strong><span data-contrast="auto">What we're looking for:</span></strong><span data-ccp-props="{}"> </span></p>
<ul>
<li><span data-contrast="auto">Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil, Environmental, Chemical or related Engineering discipline and 8+ years of related water or wastewater design experience, including project management experience.</span></li>
<li><span data-contrast="auto">Registered Professional Engineer or other Professional Registrations as appropriate for their primary field of expertise in State(s) where Apex does work or ability to obtain same by reciprocity is strongly preferred</span></li>
<li><span data-contrast="auto">Demonstrated ability to work effectively with clients, staff, subconsultants and contractors through effective leadership, and demonstrated written and verbal communication skills.</span><span data-ccp-props="{}"> </span></li>
<li><span data-contrast="auto">Strong understanding of state and federal regulatory framework and experience interacting with regulators in the local and technical areas where Apex does work.</span><span data-ccp-props="{}"> </span></li>
<li><span data-contrast="auto">Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and a strong desire to manage and mentor junior staff.</span><span data-ccp-props="{}"> </span></li>
<li><span data-contrast="auto">Valid driver’s license and clean driving record is required.</span><span data-ccp-props="{}"> </span></li>
