About the role
- Lead welding operations for large-scale structural assemblies and complex machine builds
- Drive production throughput while maintaining exceptional weld quality and consistency
- Partner closely with engineering to translate designs into executable fabrication plans
- Oversee machine assembly, modification, repair, and installation across shop and field environments
- Establish and enforce welding standards, procedures, and quality controls
- Build, mentor, and scale a team of welders, setting expectations and elevating performance
- Plan and prioritize work across shifting production needs to meet aggressive timelines
- Play a key role in hiring, evaluating, and developing top welding talent
- 5+ years of professional experience welding steel in a production or heavy fabrication environment
- 2+ years leading teams in a manufacturing, construction, or industrial setting
- Experience leading teams in high-output fabrication environments with 10 or more welders
- Strong ability to interpret engineering drawings, weld callouts, and fabrication specifications
- Background in precision machining and fabrication with the ability to hold tight tolerances
- Familiarity with non-destructive evaluation methods and weld inspection standards
- Experience working across both shop fabrication and field execution environments
- Comfortable working in physically demanding environments, including confined spaces and at elevation
- Willingness to work extended hours or travel as needed to support build and deployment schedules
