About the role
Job Purpose
The purpose of this role is to coordinate and implement youth empowerment initiatives and scholarship programs, fostering leadership development and resilience among youth. This role will engage young participants in a youth-driven empowerment collective, oversee the scholarship program, manage reporting and documentation, and ensure effective collaboration across teams. Through recruitment, mentorship, and program planning, this position supports youth in developing leadership skills and accessing educational opportunities.
Duties and Responsibilities
YEG The Come Up
- Recruit youth for The Come Up
- Writing reports and handling case documentation.
- Planning events and projects, including budgeting.
- Collect qualitative and quantitative data for evaluation and other purposes.
- Prepare & maintain volunteer, participant and program documentation and reports.
Scholarship Program
- Overseeing the Scholarship Committee and coordinating regular meetings.
- Scheduling check-ins with partners and planning scholarship-related events.
- Managing reporting through surveys and other documentation.
- Overseeing the disbursement of funds and managing private and confidential information for distribution.
- Collaborating across departments to ensure program success.
Mentorship & Leadership
- Collaborate and support the mentorship & leadership program.

- Interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills.
- Team player with the ability to multitask.
- Highly effective networking and relationship-building skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively with participants from diverse cultural backgrounds and age groups.
- Extensive experience initiating, developing, and maintaining partnerships with other agencies and service providers to harness available community resources and participant satisfaction.
- Program evaluation and financial reporting.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree/diploma related to human services.
- Demonstrated cultural competence and a clear understanding of barriers and challenges faced by African immigrant/refugee youth.
- Progressively responsible experience in a supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of MS Office.
Working Conditions
- This is a full-time position of 40 hours per week. Generally, the work week is Monday to Friday from 9:00 am – 5:00 pm. You may be required to work evenings/weekends.
- Must have access to a vehicle.
